The biggest challenge I’m going to face in the next six months is honestly a multifaceted challenge.
Six months from now we will be in the month of August. By the time August gets here, my goal is to be back living overseas. This time I’ll spend a year living in a major city attending language school. The hope is that after a year in language school I will be able to communicate fluently in the native language. If I can communicate in the native language, I can share the gospel. I can share the hope I have because of Jesus with a group of people who have not heard it before. Well, a population where around 2% have heard and confessed Jesus as Lord.
To get overseas, I have to finish raising support. You see, I’m not going overseas to make a bunch of money. I probably won’t make any money. I am going to be able to go and tell people about Jesus if people help me… I’ll be able to go if people partner with the work the Lord is already doing there by helping me go. Currently, I have 33% of my monthly support raised. I have 73% of my one time expenses raised.
I guess the biggest challenge I will have is trusting that if the Lord has called me to go and show and share His love, that He will provide the needed money to do so. I have to do my part of going and speaking with people and asking for their partnership, but ultimately God is in control and it’ll happen in His timing. I will have to surrender the need for control and know that ultimately whatever God ordains is right- including when and how I finish raising support.
